I have one horrible beauty confession to make to you. I grew up in California, spent every day outside, and almost never wore sunscreen. I know, I’m mortified too and if my current 25 year old self could go back and tell my childhood/teenage/early adulthood self to pull it together and make a smart decision, I would do it in one instant. Unfortunately, since there’s no such thing as a real life DeLorean (quote taken from Princesses of Long Island, which is you are not watching, you are making one massive, huge mistake. It’s chock full of quotable gems) I can only make smarter choices for my skin going forward. Or, I can use a sunscreen that actively addresses both concerns, previous sun damage AND protects me from the burns and havoc that this hot sun wants to wreak on my skin. Lucky for you, and for me, Somme Institute created the number one stunna, the best player in the game, the end all be all of sunscreen, and it’s the only sunscreen that I let touch my skin. Somme Institute’s Double Defense
What makes it so good? Here you go:
- Most importantly: it’s SPF 30, and it’s specifically made to protect AND reverse your skin from sun damage. I mean, seriously, does it get better than a product that does double duty??
- More than just helping to reverse sun damage , it also helps to correct uneven skin tone, rosacea, acne and wrinkles. Yes, all of them.
- It’s thick but not at all oily. This may vary depending on your skin type, but I have very combination oily and dry skin and it hasn’t left me feeling oily at all!
- It works on ALL skin types. Also, while it can be used on your whole body, I’d save it just for your face and neck.
Basically it comes down to this, sunscreen is NOT an option. It’s just not. If you need more info about just why this isn’t an option in your beauty routine, my friend Kate wrote a great article on the importance of sunscreen over on The Man Repeller, but the bottom line is that you have no option about wearing it daily.
So, fess up, are you wearing a sunscreen regularly? If not, PLEASE look into Somme’s Double Defense, seriously, your skin is so worth it. Do you have any other sunscreens that you would recommend? Comment below!
