It’s really incredible how the fastest way to change your look is to cut bangs, but it’s equally as incredible how horrible the process of growing out your bangs is. We have all been there at at least one point in our lives- it takes forever, it’s slow and you end up with awkward length hair for a very long time. So, imagine my delight when fake bangs came popping up all over the runways this season and we reminded ourselves that you never need real bangs when you can make fake ones in 10 seconds! Today I’m going to show you four different ways that you can style your hair to make it look like you have bangs. This is four styles in one video, it’s your lucky day. Let’s get to it.
Steps:
Fake bangs:
- Take a comb and part your hair with a deep part to the left or to the right. Deeper than you’d ever imagine yourself being comfortable with, just go with it.
- Take that front section of hair, the hair that would be your bangs if you ever cut them in, lightly drape it backward and pin it right behind the ear. Don’t take too much hair or you’ll end up with a bump of hair behind your ear that you cannot blend, and don’t use too light amount of hair otherwise you’ll new bangs won’t stay put.
Fishtail braid:
- After you have your new bangs in place, take your hair and split it into two sections. Take the furthest left hair and cross it over to the right hand section, pulling tight. Then take the furthest right hair and cross it over to the left hand section, pulling tight. Do this step until you are at the end of the hair and secure with a rubber elastic. If you need more in-depth instructions, watch this video!
Low Bun:
- After you have your new bangs in place, gather all of the hair in one hand, twist it tightly and then wrap it around itself into the shape of a bun. Securing all along the base with bobbypins.
Low Ponytail:
- After you have your new bangs in place, take the hair into a low ponytail in the back of your head, secure with a rubber elastic.
- Take a piece of hair from directly underneath the ponytail and wrap it around the base of the ponytail, securing with a bobbypin.
- Finish off with hairspray
Straight and sleek:
- Section your hair off, leaving the bottom section down.
- Taking your straightening iron, fully straight your entire head, section by section, leaving out the bang portion.
- Pin your fake bangs back behind the ear and straighten ends of the hair so that they blend with the rest of your hair.
- Take a small amount of Mane Tame pomade and apply to the ends of the hair.
- Finish off with hairspray.
