While cleaning out my bathroom, cabinets, closet and bag of additional product that I keep hidden from Joe, I realized that I’ve amassed an expansive collection of hair products. Some of it is really just overpriced shit that doesn’t do a single thing that they promise it will do, some of it is great but not for my hair time and some of it is absolutely exceptional. Today I present you with the five greatest hair products (and tools!) that constantly keep my coif looking right.
If you are a natural blonde or have highlights, I cannot recommend using a violet shampoo more. I’ve used a few different ones over the course of my hair dying career, and this Joico one is by far the best. It immediately tones the brassiness out of my hair and leave it looking incredibly soft, healthy and perfectly blonde. Think straight-out-of-the-salon-blonde every time you wash your hair. Win.
I never blow out my hair, because it’s exhausting and entirely too much work, but I’m really finding that I love a straight sleek look. When I do blow it out, I use this Bed Head product to keep it frizz free despite the New York humidity. Works like a dream.
If you don’t believe in using hair spray then we probably don’t believe any of the same things in life, but if you do love hair spray as much as I do, then you need to be using this one. Great smell, holds perfectly without feeling too heavy and is also ranked as the number 1 hair spray in America. Must own.
I fully intend to write a separate post about how this product has been a life saver for my hair since age 15, but in the mean time you can just know that this is the single best treatment product that I could ever recommend. And now they make it specifically for blondes! It’s too good, really.
I was just introduced to this brush by my best friend who swears that I couldn’t live without it, and she was right. It’s extremely inexpensive ($8!) and detangles your wet hair with extreme ease. If you have kids or a sensitive scalp or even hair at all, then you cannot live another day without this brush. Seriously, it’s too good.
Which hair products do you swear by? I have to know, leave me a comment.
